Responders to Warmth ( R2W ) was a short term programme scheduled to close in late March that was extended to operate up to the 27th April 2012.
Message from the Manager
Responders to Warmth (R2W) was funded by the UK Department of Health and was agency managed by Lincolnshire Community Foundation staff. The aim of the scheme was to support the needs of households living in Lincolnshire (UK) to keep warm and healthy in the winter weather conditions of early 2012. To date R2W has assisted over 500 Lincolnshire households with support ranging from sand and salt for pathways for the prevention of slips, trips and falls, through to new central heating boilers.
A great big thank you is given to all our partners and those who advised clients to come to us for assistance. An extra big thanks goes out to the participating GP Practices who made such a big difference to the scheme finding those people in greatest health need in the County.
A report will be compiled on the programme's successes for June 2012, including information from a comprehensive customer feedback survey, to be put out in May, on what householders would like to see if a further R2W grant support initiative of this nature was operated again.
I do hope that the 500 households that we directly supported with measures, and the 50,000 people who were provided with a winter self help guide, are now happier, warmer, healthier and far less likely to fall into fuel poverty.
Kind regards
Alan Jones
